And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the Night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the Night: he made the stars also.

And to rule over the day and over the Night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and Night shall not cease.

And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by Night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all Night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all Night.

And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this Night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

And they made their father drink wine that Night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesterNight with my father: let us make him drink wine this Night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

And they made their father drink wine that Night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by Night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all Night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.

And the LORD appeared unto him the same Night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all Night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to Night for thy son's mandrakes.

And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that Night.

And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by Night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by Night.

Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by Night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all Night in the mount.

And he lodged there that same Night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;

So went the present over before him: and himself lodged that Night in the company.

And he rose up that Night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.

And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one Night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.

And we dreamed a dream in one Night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the Night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at Night he shall divide the spoil.

And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that Night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

And they shall eat the flesh in that Night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this Night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

And Pharaoh rose up in the Night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

And he called for Moses and Aaron by Night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.

It is a Night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that Night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by Night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and Night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by Night, from before the people.

And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by Night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the Night.

And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that Night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by Night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all Night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.

This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning, and half thereof at Night.

Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and Night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.

And the owl, and the Night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all Night until the morning.

So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by Night.

And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by Night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.

And when the dew fell upon the camp in the Night, the manna fell upon it.

And the people stood up all that day, and all that Night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that Night.

And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by Night.

And he said unto them, Lodge here this Night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.

Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this Night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.

And God came unto Balaam at Night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.

Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by Night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

And the owl, and the Night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by Night.

And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all Night until the morning.

His body shall not remain all Night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by Night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:

And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and Night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and Night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to Night of the children of Israel to search out the country.

And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this Night.

So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent them away by Night.

Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that Night among the people.

And when they had set the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that Night into the midst of the valley.

Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all Night.

And it came to pass the same Night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by Night.

And God did so that Night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

And it came to pass the same Night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.

Now therefore up by Night, thou and the people that is with thee, and lie in wait in the field:

And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by Night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.

And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all Night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the Night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.

And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all Night, and let thine heart be merry.

And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all Night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.

But the man would not tarry that Night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.

And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all Night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.

But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the Night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.

And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by Night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.

Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to Night, and should also bear sons;

And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to Night in the threshingfloor.

Tarry this Night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

And Saul said, Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them, Bring me hither every man his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and sin not against the LORD in eating with the blood. And all the people brought every man his ox with him that Night, and slew them there.

And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by Night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all Night.

Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this Night. And he said unto him, Say on.

And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that Night.

Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to Night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.

And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that Night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

They were a wall unto us both by Night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.

So David and Abishai came to the people by Night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him.

And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by Night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.

Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the Night.

And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that Night.

All the valiant men arose, and went all Night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there.

And Abner and his men walked all that Night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all Night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.

For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all Night.

And it came to pass that Night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
